Fall 2017 Dean’s List

The following Verona residents received academic honors at colleges and universities during the fall 2017 semester:

Bucknell University: Jasmine Spinelli, Class of 2019, and Jane Szybist, Class of 2018, were named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester of the 2017-18 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition.

Coastal Carolina University: Hunter Grasso, majoring in political science, was among 2,419 students at Coastal Carolina University who made the Fall Semester 2017 Dean’s List. To qualify for the Dean’s List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average.

East Stroudsburg University: Kaitlyn Esteves was named to the East Stroudsburg University Fall 2017 Dean’s List. Esteves is a Senior majoring in Early Childhood Educ (PreK-4). Esteves was among 1,555 students named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2017 semester of the 2017-2018 academic year. Students eligible for the Dean’s List are those who have attained a 3.50 quality point average or better and are enrolled full-time.

Hamilton College: Caroline G. Chivily, daughter of Christina and Philip Chivily of Verona, has been named to the Dean’s List at Hamilton College for the 2017 fall semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must have carried throughout the semester a course load of four or more graded credits with an average of 3.5 or above. Chivily is a junior majoring in biology.

Muhlenberg College: Molly Nochimson was named to Dean’s List for the Fall 2017 semester. Students with a term GPA of 3.50 or higher were recognized for this academic achievement.

Saint Francis University: More than 750 students from Saint Francis University made one of the Fall 2017 Honor’s Lists, Provost’s or Dean’s. To achieve either list, students must have full-time status and attain a quality point average of at least 3.8 (Provost’s) or 3.5 (Dean’s) for the given semester. Luke Weiss, a Criminal Justice major, Taylor Reed, a Biology major and Sam Cummings, a Exercise Physiology major, were all named to the Dean’s List.

Seton Hall University: Kelly Carr, Thomas DeNicola, Nicholas DiStaso, Michael Ditizii, Dominick Gamarro, Brooke Harrington, Charles Matta, Gabriella Mottola, Joseph Nalbone and Haydy Shalaby all qualified for Fall 2017 Dean’s list.

SUNY Geneseo: Juliana Conlon has been named to SUNY Geneseo’s Dean’s List for the fall semester 2017. To be on the list, a student must have achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.

SUNY New Paltz: Rachel Gumbrecht was named to the Dean’s List for the fall ’17 semester.Dean’s List designation is reserved for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade-point average in a semester with a full-time course load.

The College of New Jersey: Jillian Harris, a senior majoring in Biomedical Engineering, was named to the Dean’s List. She was a 2014 graduate of Mount Saint Dominic Academy.

University of Rhode Island: 5,500 undergraduates have qualified for the fall 2017 Dean’s List including Brendan Carroll of Verona. To be included on the Dean’s List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

University of Vermont: Giuliana Frizzi, Isabelle Schechter, Anna Wallace and Jessica Wallace were named to the dean’s list. To be named to the dean’s list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
