VHS Toy Drive Needs Support

toy driveThe Verona High School Student Council has been collecting toys for Hawkins Street School and North 10th Street School in Newark. VHS needs a total of 644 toys for these two schools by next Monday, December 18. Members of the Student Council will be visiting Hawkins School on Tuesday, December 19, to distribute the toys to these very appreciative students.

As of Tuesday, December 12, the Student Council is well short of its goal. As Verona continues its holiday shopping, please consider purchasing a toy for these children. It is Verona High School Student Council’s biggest community service project of the year.

Toys are needed for boys and girls from Pre-K to fourth grade. New Toys must be wrapped and labeled
with the following info:
• Gender: Boy, Girl or Unisex
• Age
• What the toy is

The Student Council is asking people to spend no more than $10 to $15 on gifts. No used toys, toy weapons, clothing, or video games. Battery-operated toys must include batteries.

Please drop off toys in the main hallway at VHS.
