The Tournament of Champions quarterfinals are being moved to Friday.
You’re going to need another day of activities at home: The Verona Public Schools will again be closed on Wednesday, March 15. You’re also going to have to wait to see another game from Verona High School’s basketball champs: Their NJSIAA Tournament of Champions quarterfinals game is being postponed to Friday from Wednesday.

Superintendent Rui Dionisio sent out an email about the schools this evening. The schools closing includes the cancellation of all athletics, school activities, and non-district events held at the schools.

“Our Township and District staff has been working to maintain safe roadways, pedestrian routes, and school facilities,” Dionisio wrote. “Due to the nature of the storm, additional time and efforts are necessary to ensure the safety of students and staff. School and Township personnel will take additional necessary measures over the next 24 hours with snow removal from street corners, crosswalks, sidewalks, school drop off areas, parking lots, and roads to prepare our schools and community for regular operation.”

As for basketball, the VHS game against Don Bosco Prep will continue to be held at the Pine Belt Area in Tom’s River. The tip is at 5:30 p.m.
