Rampolla-StudentThe Brookdale Avenue Elementary School SCA is hosting a reception on Wednesday, June 1, to honor Principal Richard Rampolla, who is retiring at the end of this school year.

Rampolla has spent his entire career in Verona. He began as a fifth grade teacher at F.N. Brown Elementary School, and when the fifth grade moved to H. B. Whitehorne Middle School, he moved with them. He served as assistant principal at the middle school before taking over leadership of Brookdale.

At the April 27 Board of Education meeting, which approved the new Brookdale principal, Rampolla thanked the BOE for giving him “the honor” of being principal for 15 years. “I know that you will have as exciting and rewarding a career as I have had,” he told his successor, Nicole Stuto. “Verona is a great community and you are coming into a really special school.”

The reception will be held at the Essex Fells Country Club, 219 Devon Road in Essex Fells, from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests ages 21 and over are welcome. There is no cost to attend the event, but there will be a cash bar.

Please RSVP to [email protected] as soon as possible. At the request of the Country Club, guests are asked to not wear jeans or use cell phones.
