The Bergen Track & Field club held its annual Brett Taylor Memorial Invitational cross-country meet in yesterday morning’s rainstorm and, despite the weather it was a good day for the Verona High School boys and girls cross-country teams.

The heavy rain throughout the race provided what Coach Gene Leporati called an “interesting competition” since about a half mile of the race is over soft wet sand. Both Maggie Ashley and Ryan Ramsthaler medaled in their respective races. The VHS girls came in fifth overall, while the boys finished eighth overall.
