Whitehorne Middle School to help Zoey Penny, a Verona child affected by the rapid aging disease progeria. Progeria is a fatal disease with the average life expectancy being 13 years old.
The “Team Zoey” fundraiser includes a performance by the science party and education company Mad Science, as well as face painting, manicures, tattoos, pizza and a bake sale. The cost is $5 per person, or $20 a family, and children under two are free. The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m.
