Senate Primary Vote Tuesday

MyVeronaNJ-School-Budget-Vote-SlideThere will be a primary election on Tuesday, August 13 to choose the candidates for the election to succeed the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg. Polls in Verona will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and if you’ve forgotten where you vote, you can look up your polling place here.

On the Democratic side the candidates include Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark; Rush Holt, the U.S. Representative for New Jersey’s 12th congressional district; Frank Pallone, the U.S. Representative for New Jersey’s 6th congressional district; and Sheila Oliver, who represents the 34th legislative district in the New Jersey state Assembly. On the Republican side, the candidates are Steve Lonegan, the former mayor of Bogota and two-time Republican candidate for governor, and Alieta Eck, the former president of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons.
