The camps will be led by Matt Podwoski, an experienced educator and coach with more than 20 years of experience, and his trained staff of lacrosse player/coaches.
Lacrosse camps for boys and girls ages 5-14 will be held in Verona at Centennial Field July 8-12 and also at Watsessing Park in Bloomfield July 15-19.
Children will benefit from an age and skill appropriate curriculum and an excellent coach-to-player ratio of 1:5.
“My goal is for kids to be active, have fun, and play with their friends, while learning to love this dynamic game,” said Podwoski, founder of Evolution Lacrosse.
The camp provides safe, fun, competitive and age-appropriate instruction for boys and girls ages 5-14. Instruction will focus on basic to advanced lacrosse skills through individual, group and positional work. This exciting camp is the perfect environment for players of all ages and skill levels to play, have fun, and evolve their games.
Mini-Laxers is a starter camp for boys and girls ages 5-6. This camp runs from 9-11 am and focuses on basic lacrosse skills through fun games and group activities that familiarize campers with stick skills like scooping and running with the ball. Players will gain an understanding for the rules of lacrosse, and will have the chance to explore throwing, catching and shooting on goal. As this is an introductory skill-building session, players will play modified scrimmages. This exciting mini-camp is the perfect environment for our youngest players to explore one of the fastest growing sports in America. Bring your own lacrosse sticks; no additional equipment is necessary; we will play with tennis balls and soft lacrosse balls.
