The Verona High School boys basketball team defeated Butler High School at home Thursday afternoon and it was, even more than usual, a team effort. Matt Braschi led the scoring for Verona, with 14 points, but almost every one of his teammates put something on the scoreboard.

Juniors Alex Kaslander and Mike Coppola each had eight points, which was Coppola’s best outing all season. Kaslander was also the game’s leading rebounder with six.

Luke Weiss contributed seven points, and Frank and Bill Ferrari, Ethan Garsman, Jake Miller and Dave Gautieri.
