Two Goals Aren’t Enough For VGR

Sean Gluzberg and Michael Lloyd each scored goals last night, but the the Verona-Glen Ridge hockey team came up on the short end of a 7-2 game against Montclair Kimberley Academy at Clary Anderson Arena.

Gluzberg, a Verona High School junior, scored with an impressive slapshot from the blue line in the second period, assisted by Bobby Maguire, one of the co-captains from the Verona side of the joint team. Lloyd, a senior from Glen Ridge, scored VGR’s second goal of the game mid-way through the third.

Goalies Jake Biondi and Liam Blaney–respectively a Glen Ridge senior and a VHS freshman–stopped 37 shots between them. VGR takes on West Essex on Friday at Cody arena at 6:45 p.m.
