Mrs. Joan E. (nee Daley) Mulligan died on May 15, 2012 in Wayne. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Saturday, May 19 at 9:45 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.

Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Mulligan lived most of her life in Verona, moving to Toms River 17 years ago.

She graduated from Misericordia University and taught Primary grades for the East Orange Board of Education many years ago. Mrs. Mulligan taught CCD at Our Lady of the Lake Parish and served as a Eucharistic Minister at both Our Lady of the Lake Church in Verona and at the Church of St. Luke in Toms River.

Mrs. Mulligan was predeceased by her husband Thomas J. Mulligan, Jr. and her brother Thomas Daley. She is the mother of Kathleen M. Shevlin, her husband Kevin and his son Ryan, Clare Miller, her husband Robert and their children Kyleigh, Courtney and Robby and Thomas Mulligan III, his wife Dawn and their children Tommy and Sean.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of the Lake School, Montrose Avenue and Lakeside Avenue, Verona NJ 07044 would be appreciated.
