Brian Farrell dropped in 26 points for the Hillbillies to lead them to 58-44 victory over Montclair Immaculate on Monday. The score was tight early on as both teams knotted at 14 a piece after the first quarter. Verona began to pull ahead in the second quarter, outscoring the Lions 11-4.
Farrell, with the help of fellow senior Anthony Huber, led the Hillbillies to their 10th win of the season as they exploded for 17 points in the third quarter to pull out of reach for the Lions. Huber had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Verona and Alex Kaslander chipped in with nine points. Matt Braschi had a three from long range, pulled in five rebounds and had three assists on the day.
Verona is on the court again Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. against Cedar Grove at home. The girls team travels to Cedar Grove for a 4 p.m. start.
