If you’ve got the blues or you want them bad, head to South Mountain Reservation on Sunday, September 18 for the 2011 South Orange International Blues Festival. The music will be playing from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The free event will be hosted by Johhny Ciao, known as the Culinary Rocker. The schedule of local and internationally recognized blues artists performing includes:
11 a.m.: Dean Shot
11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.: Al Gold & SRK
12:30 to 1:15 p.m.: Full Circle Blues Band
1:30 to 2:15 p.m.: Suffering Blues Band
2:30 to 3: 15 p.m.: Shari Pine
3:30 to 4:20 p.m.: Saron Crenshaw
4:35 to 5:25 p.m.: Dave Stryker & B2TB
5:40 to 6:30 p.m.: Michael Hill’s Blues Mob
6: 45 to 8 p.m.: Popa Chubby
The South Orange International Blues Festival was created and produced by South Orange resident Mike Griot. The inaugural festival was held last year in South Orange. This year, it makes its debut in Essex County South Mountain Reservation and as part of the Essex County SummerMusic Concert Series. For more information, visit the festival’s Web site.
