This past Saturday, the Hilltop Conservancy, with help from the Jersey Off Road Bicycle Association and the Essex County Parks Department hosted the 2nd Annual Hilltop Grasshopper Kid’s Bike Race. Two Verona students earned podium finishes for their hard racing. Andrew Hunt (above, left) was awarded third place in his class of 29 riders while Cole Smith (below, center) received a first place finish in his class.

A total of 78 kids came out to race on the Kid’s Korse from all over northern New Jersey and New York. Next season’s race is already being planned so get the kids in training by exploring the Hilltop by bicycle and trying some laps on the Kid’s Korse. You’ll find a detailed map at the Conservancy’s Web site.
