Verona High School football coach Lou Racioppe is running a camp for Hillbilly hopefuls this week, and he brought former Hillbilly Anthony Fasano in to talk to the young players. Fasano, a tight end for the Miami Dolphins, talked to the kids about football, school and sportsmanship. He urged the young players to work hard in school, conduct themselves well on and off the field, and to be an athlete in many different sports.
Fasano also answered a lot of tough questions: What was the hardest hit he’s ever taken? From Giants linebacker Keith Bulluck; What does he think of the NFL lock-out? He hopes it ends soon; and Does he play himself in Madden NFL? No, he’s not much of a videogamer.
When the grilling ended, Fasano signed autographs, posed for pictures and took to the field with some of the kids. We’re betting that at least one of the autographed items will be up for grabs at the Laning Avenue School Tricky Tray next March.
