Join The Rescue Squad

Among the many hats that Jeff Shilling wears in Verona (including some MyVeronaNJ.com hats won in our contests), none is more important perhaps than the one for membership recruiting at the Verona Rescue Squad.

The squad is looking for members, and if you’re at least 16, you can join. As a adult volunteer, you’ll be committing to either a six-hour or 12-hour shift once a week. Youth members take on one shift from 6 p.m. to no later than 11 p.m.

You don’t need medical training to volunteer: The Rescue Squad will help you learn everything you need to, such as CPR and First Responder or EMT training, at no cost to you.

If you want to try, call the squad’s non-emergency office number at 973-857-4760, or e-mail [email protected].
