Jeff Shilling ventured out at lunchtime today and captured these images of the Passaic River in Fairfield, near the Home Depot and Pio Costa complex. The National Weather Service says the Passaic is already at 20.6 feet, a foot and a half above flood stage there. It is expected to continue to rise into tomorrow, to an expected 21.9 feet.

The Passaic is swollen along its entire length. In Little Falls, the river is at 9.3 feet, well above the 7.0-foot mark that is flood stage there. It could rise as high as 12 feet before the waters recede.
