Calvary Lutheran Church‘s traditional live nativity will take place this Sunday, December 12..
Virtually all of the church’s parishioners have a hand in the presentation, stitching the elaborate costumes, acting and singing the story and managing the actors and live animals.
Calvary Lutheran is located at 23 S. Prospect Street just off Bloomfield Avenue and the free performance begins at 5 p.m.
I am a 1960 graduate of VHS. Recently, the class of 60 celebrated their 50th reunion. To commemorate this occasion, I have created a website. I have a page with all the grammar schools we attended. I was in Verona on Friday last and took pictures of the schools. Our class attend the Jr High that stood at the front of the square and has since been demolished. Would you or any of the local newspapers have a picture of the school in your achieves. If so, would you be able to email a picture to me. Thank you.
Best Regards,
Hal Taback
Hal, thanks so much for the link to the reunion Web site. I love the “then and now” pages of the class members.
There are some shots of the old junior high school near the office at H.B. Whitehorne and a model of the school itself in the auditorium. You might see if the current principal, Yvette McNeal, has photos that she can share with you.
