Verona battled back from a huge first-half deficit, but it wasn’t enough. The Hillbillies lost to Orange 27-21 on Saturday afternoon after the game went into overtime.

Cooper Neale got Verona’s first touchdown, in the second quarter. Neale had a strong day overall, with 30 carries for 92 yards. Quarterback Matt Rosenfeld scored in the third, and tied the game with a fourth-quarter TD.  But an end-zone interception put the game back in Orange’s hands for the win.

Verona’s record is now 4-2-0, with a 1 p.m. game next weekend at home against Newark Academy. Thanks to Fred Goode for this week’s images; there are more from this and Verona’s other games on his Web site.
