The Verona Health Department is partnering with the Montclair Health Department and Mountainside Family Practice to hold a flu shot clinic in Verona. The clinic, which is open to anybody 18 or older, will be held at the Verona Community Center on Wednesday, October 20, from 5 to 7:00 p.m. The fee is $20 (or show a Medicare card) and you’ve got to make an appointment by registering through the town’s Web site by October 7. To register, look in the lower left-hand corner of the Web site for the yellow Recreation Online Registration logo.
The vaccine is not recommended for people who have had an allergy to the vaccine components in the past, eggs or those with a history of Guillian Barre. The vaccine will include H1N1 this year. Persons 65 and older, pregnant women and families with children under six months of age are encouraged to be vaccinated each year.
