When we were reviewing the photos for this week’s contest, Fred Goode and I were certain we’d stump everyone. The images were obscure, the cropping was tight. We’d use up all five days of photos for sure.
Kathleen Seubert had other plans.
Seubert, Verona High School Class of 1982, grew up playing softball on the Linn Drive field now known as Veteran’s Field. Now, her children play soccer on the field, and she spends a lot of time on the sidelines. At one time, she even had a key to the power box there, which is how she was able to guess–at 7:23 a.m. on Monday morning–that the first photo we put up was a power box on Linn Drive. From there, it was an easy progression of guesses to determine that the real location was the turf field, Centennial.
But Seubert already has a MyVeronaNJ baseball cap. She was the winner of Week 8. So, in the spirit of generosity that so often prevails in town, she has ceded her winning hat this week to Alice Martin McCarthy, who was just a few minutes behind her with the winning guess.
Thanks Kathleen I spend allot of time on the turf field with Eagles.
