Obituaries: Shirley E. Frazer

Mrs. Shirley E. Frazer died on Saturday July 31, 2010 in Morris Plains.

Services will be held in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave., Verona on Tuesday, August 3, at 12 noon. Visiting is on Monday, 4 to 7 p.m.

Born in Cranston, R.I., Mrs. Frazer lived in Verona for 46 years, moving to Whippany in 1999. She taught home economics for the West Orange Board of Education from 1967 to 1982. She has a B.S. in home economics from the University of Delaware and a Masters in Textile, Clothing & Related Arts from Columbia Teachers College.

Mrs. Frazer was a Docent at the Crane House in Montclair and a member of the New Jersey Education Association.

She was active in the United Methodist Church of Verona, serving on the Pastor/Parish Relations Committee, as a Trustee, a member of the United Methodist Women, as the Annual Conference Rep, the Church Fair Committee and a member of the Church Quilting Club.

She is the wife of the late Donald V. Frazer, the mother of Donald B. Frazer and his wife Jane, and Merideth A. Heckman and her husband Brian, the grandmother of Mark Wilman and his wife Gerry, Marguerite DAmato, Jacqueline Wilman and the great grandmother of Matthew, Michelle, Kayla, Desiree, Alexis and Marc.

Memorial donations to the United Methodist Church of Verona would be appreciated.
