October is still more than two months away, but you might want to put this note on your calendar: On Saturday, October 16, Our Lady of the Lake will be holding an Oktoberfest.

The church is billing this as the biggest party OLL has ever had, and it certainly is shaping up that way. There will be free-flowing beer, food and live entertainment, as well as raffles and a 50/50.

The event is open only to those 21 or older and costs $60 per person. If you buy 10 tickets by August 15 you get a reserved table. You can download the reservation form here, or for more information, e-mail [email protected].

  1. Why can’t it be a family Octoberfest and serve no beer. We are trying to get our kids involved in the church and with family. This would have been the perfect opportunity. Our church never has family dinners. We don’t even serve coffee after masses to encourage fellowship. Lets try and put together family outings and leave the beer for another night, soda, water and ice tea would be appropriate.

  2. Please consider joining us for OLL Family Mass – 9:00am on the first Sunday of the month. In addition to focusing on family topics and being “kid friendly” with music and participation, we serve free breakfast and coffee afterwards – a great opportunity for fellowship.

The Oktoberfest was a successful fund raiser, and will go a long way to helping support the school.
