The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Essex County and 16 other New Jersey counties because of the heavy rain expected today. One to two inches of rain is possible before this is all over. You’ve heard it before but it’s worth repeating: If there’s water on the roadway, don’t drive into it.
