Rethink Autism, an innovative on-line support system for the management of children on the autism spectrum, will present a free workshop for interested professionals and parents on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Verona Community Center ballroom.
Sponsored by C.H.I.L.D., a Verona nonprofit for children with learning difficulties, the seminar is titled, “Using a Web-based Platform to Deliver Autism Treatment Tools to Parents and Professionals: An overview for clinicians, parents, medical professionals, educators, social workers and others involved with the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders.” It will be presented by Jamie Pagliaro, executive vice president and a co-creator of Rethink Autism.
Rethink Autism’s online system of Applied Behavior Analysis treatment includes five components: (1) individualized skills assessment tool, (2) comprehensive curriculum with 1200+ video-based ABA teaching exercises, (3) staff and parent training modules, (4) automated data tracking and (5) ongoing support from a team of dedicated clinicians. The program has received national recognition as a model for children with autism in the public school system.
