Band and Choir seniors celebrate a successful trip and Verona music experience.

Verona High School vocal and instrumental musicians traveled to Virginia Beach for a competition this past weekend and came away with several awards for their performances.

On Friday, the Concert Band, Concert Choir, Jazz Band, and Jazz Choir all performed and participated in a judges clinic where they received great acclamation. At the awards ceremony on Saturday, the Jazz Choir received a rating of good. The Concert Choir received a rating of excellent, with Alex Eliasof winning the Best Vocal Soloist Award for his tenor solo.

Both the Jazz Band and Concert Band received ratings of superior and placed first in their respective categories. They also won the Sweepstakes award, which, as band director Erik Lynch explains, means they were the two best highest scoring instrumental ensembles in the entire competition.

Congratulations one and all!
