The Verona Recreation Department will open online registration for all summer playground programs except Tot-Lot on Thursday, April 15.
The playground program runs from June 28 to July 30, with different age groups at different schools. Primary Park, the program for kids going into first and second grades, meets at Laning Avenue School. Elementary Zone, for those going into third and fourth grades, will be held at F.N. Brown, while Summer Adventure, the program for fifth to eighth grades, will use Verona High School. All programs run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and, as in previous years, all of the programs will offer a variety of day trips, for an extra charge.
Registration for all these programs will be open through mid-May, with in-person registration at the Community Center on May 1 from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $150 per child, with a $300 maximum per family. Registrations received after May 14 will be subject to a late fee of $15 per child or $25 per family.
To register online, go to the town’s Web site and look for the Recreation Online Registration logo.
Registration for Tot-Lot, which is open to children who will be 4 by October 1, will not be online because of the need to show a birth certificate and immunization records. You can pick up a Tot-Lot form at the Recreation Department office in the Community Center now, and register in person on May 1.
