OK, pinch me: World-famous astrophysicist Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, the director of the Hayden Planetarium and host of two PBS NOVA science shows, is giving a talk on Friday, January 29, at the Montclair Kimberley Academy.

Wait, it gets better. Dr. Tyson is going to be interviewed at the event by Stephen Colbert.

And better still: This whole Big Bang shebang is open to the general public and free of charge.

MKA’s parents’ association gets the credit for this event, whose official title is “The Sky is Not The Limit”, the same as Dr. Tyson’s 2004 memoir about going from the Bronx High School of Science to a BA in physics from Harvard and a PhD in astrophysics from Columbia. So I’m thinking that if you have a science-minded teenager, this would be a great inspirational talk. If you’ve never heard Dr. Tyson speak, listen to his take on UFOs:

The talk runs from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the MKA Middle School Auditorium, which is at 201 Valley Road in Montclair. Dr. Tyson’s books will be available for purchase and signing. For more information call 973-746-9800 or see MKA’s Web site.[mappress]
