West Orange Public Library is pleased to present “Growth Amid Chaos,” an exhibition of paintings and mixed media works by Verona artist Tatyana Kazakova, on display at the library through August 1.
“Growth Amid Chaos” features works from several series that reflect on the persistence of natural and human life in the midst of disorder and destruction. In Kazakova’s art, life goes on through suffering and struggle. Branches strive for light, intertwining and acquiring bizarre forms, filling the space with their presence. Plants are constantly reborn, choosing to emerge again and again. Surviving war and disasters, humans carry forward the hopes and fears of past generations, serving as a connection and foundation for posterity.
A multidisciplinary artist, Kazakova expresses her vision through oil and acrylic paint, ink, watercolor, collage, woodcut, and etching. She graduated from Moscow Printing Academy with an MFA in visual arts and continued her education at Muthesius University in Germany. She worked as a graphic designer, receiving multiple awards for her publication and design, while also exhibiting regularly at art shows in Europe. Kazakova has been living in the United States since 2000, and currently works as a full-time artist out of her studio in Manufacturers Village in East Orange.
Kazakova’s exhibition, “Growth Amid Chaos,” can be viewed at the West Orange Public Library’s new location at 10 Rooney Circle, West Orange, through August 1, during the following hours:
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Tuesday, Friday: 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
