Verona High School is inviting the community to celebrate the artistic achievements of its students at the annual Creative Arts Festival. This year’s evening of art, music and fun will take place on Thursday, May 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the new and old gyms.
The Creative Arts Festival showcases student artwork from VHS’ studio, digital and STEM art classes including Exploring Art, Drawing/Painting, Ceramics/Mosaics, Fashion, Image Development, Photography, Animation, Digital Fabrication, CAD and Portfolio Development. In the gallery space, you will find art activities hosted by various classes and extracurricular groups. Highlights include a photo booth, free thrift shop, crafting stations, handmade jewelry sale, refreshments, collaborative art projects and more. Additionally, enjoy performances by VHS musicians under the direction of Erik Lynch and Christopher Fludd as you explore the exhibition.
The show is planned by VHS National Art Honor Society officers Samantha Repoli, Caity Eng, Violet Liaukus and Hannah Koffler under the guidance of chapter advisor Juliet Carvajal-Saives. They would like to recognize all who make this night possible especially Principal Joshua Cogdill, Administrative Assistant Judy Brown, Verona SCA, Verona Board of Education, VHS custodial staff and Art Department members Helene McKelvey-McLaughlin, Christina Sciacchitano, Jason Atkins and Molly Moore. Additional gratitude extended to the members of the National Art Honor Society and Art Club.
