Question 1, Shared Services: Jim Robbins Response

What specific cost-cutting or service-sharing tactic from another town would you like to bring to Verona and why?

Verona must aggressively look for new sources of revenue. I am big proponent of offering our quality services to other communities. We have great and dedicated employees in Verona. One suggestion is to offer the use of our municipal court services to other communities, such as Essex Fells and North Caldwell. Presently, our municipal court services are operating at a loss. The municipal court should be at break even at the very least or be profitable.

In addition, we should explore the potential cost savings of consolidating our public library system with our neighboring towns, as well as, our
recycling area.
