This Thursday, May 11, from 4 p.m. to midnight, there will be a fundraiser at the Verona Inn to help Verona resident Meghan Henderson get the service dog she needs. The Verona Inn is located in the center of town at 624 Bloomfield Avenue.

As MyVeronaNJ.com reported in late March, Henderson needs a specially trained service dog because she is now confined to a wheelchair because of the disease scleroderma. Henderson is fundraising for $24,500 to get a trained service dog from Educated Canines Assisting With Disabilities (ECAD). Having the dog will help Henderson to open and close doors, put on her coat and take it off, and give her family some peace of mind.

If you cannot make the Verona Inn event, you can donate directly to Henderson’s ECAD fundraiser here.
