To the Editor:
I support Christine McGrath’s reelection to Town Council. My husband and I moved to Verona in 2017 from Jersey City. We didn’t know much about local governance until we started receiving Christine’s email updates after Town Council Meetings. Christine’s summaries of the meetings have helped us learn about Verona and become better informed voters. As new residents, this has been incredibly useful.
Christine is a strong communicator. Her emails are clear, fair, and informative. Christine communicates Town Council’s activities and business in an easily accessible and friendly way. Christine also explains Verona’s challenges and opportunities. This information is invaluable for all residents. Christine’s active presence on social media celebrates Verona’s strong sense of community and represents the excellent resources that Verona offers. When the end of DeCamp Bus services was announced, Christine immediately communicated with residents and then advocated with state leaders on behalf of commuters.
Christine fully understands the challenges and needs of families like ours with young children. She has done so much to support Verona Public Schools and improve Verona Public Library. She has worked tirelessly to expand the family-friendly amenities at the Verona Community Center and Verona Community Pool. She wants to ensure that Verona is a great place to raise a family.
As a multicultural family, we have seen how sincerely Christine welcomes people from diverse backgrounds. She is inclusive. When a cultural event or a religious celebration happens in town, Christine is there with full enthusiasm and genuine interest. She engages with all community members, and encourages everyone to get involved in our wonderful town. Christine’s active participation in every Verona event and with many Verona organizations, clearly shows that she always wants to interact with and hear from residents, not just when it’s time to campaign for votes.
I’m voting for Christine because she has strong goals and clear plans for her leadership on Town Council. Christine is a capable leader who gets things done. She is efficient and collaborative. She is focused on providing excellent services, facilities and communication. Most importantly, Christine is deeply invested in Verona and all of its residents. I am confident that Christine will lead Verona in a very positive direction.
