Library Book Sale December 1-4

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the Friends of the Verona Public Library will host its annual Holiday Book Sale from Thursday, December 1 to Sunday, December 4, inside the Jack Foley Room of the Verona Public Library, 17 Gould Street.

Last month’s call to the community for donations of gently used children’s, teens’, and adults’ books generated hundreds of titles, which will be available at significantly reduced prices, with all proceeds going to benefit Verona Public Library.

All programs at Verona Public Library are covered by contributions, not the town. That means, in addition to augmenting the library’s book and technology budgets, Friends’ fundraisers like the book sale, help finance a variety of activities including yoga, Friday matinees, author talks, kids’ clubs, and story hours. The Friends organization also supports the library’s popular Museum Pass Program, which makes admission to many local and New York City museums free to Verona residents.

Library supporters are invited to a special preview night on Thursday, December 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The sale opens to the public from noon to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 2. Doors open again during Fair-at-the-Square from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 3. All customers are asked to bring their own bags. Then from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, guests can fill a bag provided by the Friends for $5; only $2 for teachers.

Please contact the Friends at [email protected] if you have any questions or are interested in volunteering with the Friends.
