The polls are open today until 8 p.m. so that Verona voters can help choose a member of the House of Representatives, the leadership of Essex County and fill two seats on the Verona Board of Education.

All polling locations are in their usual places this year, except District 7, which has been moved from F.N. Brown elementary school to the new gym at Verona High School. If you are unsure about where your polling place is, you can check it here.

If you have a mail-in ballot and have yet to return it, you can use the drop box by the firehouse doors at the Verona Community Center, but you must deposit your ballot by 8 p.m.

The five candidates for the two seats on the BOE are, in alphabetical order, Mike Boone, Sara Drappi, Diana Ferrera, Aaron Spiegeland and Denise Verzella. MyVeronaNJ has interviewed all of the candidates and has posted a recap of the Conference of SCAs candidates forum.

If you have any questions about voting, the state hotline is 1-877-NJ-VOTER (1-877-658-6837).

MyVeronaNJ will post the election results as soon as they are available. With a combination of mail-in ballots, early voting ballots and polling place ballots to count, however, the Essex County Clerk may not have a definitive tally tonight.
