The Verona High School football team plays its big annual rivalry game against Caldwell on Friday night and Caldwell is waiving the nominal ticket price to help the community.

Caldwell is asking instead that fans bring staples to donate to the Caldwell Food Pantry. Suggested items include tuna, coffee, tea, cereal, canned fruit, kids snack, juice boxes and paper goods. The team will also accept monetary donations to the pantry.

Friday’s game will be played at James Caldwell High School, 265 Westville Avenue, in West Caldwell. Kick-off time is 7 p.m.
