The Hilltop Grasshopper bike race was held this past Saturday, and three young Verona bikers came away with medals for their riding.

Magnolia Parsons and Jack Sampers were among the top three finishers in the girls and boys grades 2-3 race respectively, and Christian Duerk was in the top three of the boys grades 6-8 race. The names of all the winners are posted on JORBA, the Jersey Off-Road Biking Association.

A total of 76 racers came out for the race, which has been winding through parts of the Hilltop Reservation for more than a decade. Race organizers mapped out a 0.3mi course and the youngest racers did two laps, while the oldest racers did six. CycleCraft supported the race by doing a safety check of each rider’s bike and helmet.
