The heat wave is going to continue on Saturday and Sunday. The Verona Pool, which is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both days, could be one place to cool off, if you are a member.
If not, the fully air-conditioned Verona Public Library is open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., but closed Sunday. Both the main Verona Community Center building and the annex will be open as cooling centers on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Beyond Verona, the Codey Arena in West Orange is also being operated as a cooling center for Essex County residents. The arena is located at 560 Northfield Avenue and it will be open through July 25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
