Verona Students Win County Poster Contest

Five Verona students finished in the top 15 in the 2022 “My Essex County” 4th grade poster contest: Ava DeMaio, F.N. Brown (poster top); Quinn Demilner, Brookdale Avenue; Angie Divinagracia, Brookdale; Dilon Palmer, F.N. Brown; and Lucian Pranpat, F.N. Brown.

The winners were honored at a ceremony at the new Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Justice Building in Newark last week. Each student’s artwork was displayed at the ceremony and each of the top 15 winners received a medal with their name engraved on the back, a framed certificate, a t-shirt, a mug, and an opportunity to talk about their poster and what inspired them to create their unique artwork.

Students attending 38 elementary schools throughout Essex County submitted a total of 1,088 posters for the contest.
The contest celebrates County Government Week in April and inspires 4th grade students to learn about the history, the people, and the beauty of Essex County.
