Did you know that May 9 is National Sleepover Day? It’s a day to celebrate the activity of friends sleeping over each other’s houses as a way to bond. Kids of all ages can enjoy sleepovers and the typical sleepover activities such as watching movies, eating junk food, and playing silly games.
The Verona Public Library is celebrating National Sleepover Day on Monday, May 9 by offering a Stuffed Animal Sleepover for kids ages 4 to 6. No, no one will actually be staying overnight at the library—no one, except for the stuffed animals, that is!
Those joining Miss Jenna and Miss Rachael, the youth services librarians at Verona Public Library, will partake in fun sleepover-themed activities starting at 6:00pm Monday evening. The librarians have prepared stories, crafts, and games. Participants are encouraged to come in their pajamas, and of course, bring one of their stuffed animals!
The stuffed animals will spend the night in the library—and they are sure to get up to some mischief! The library’s cameras will capture what the toys do after dark when no one is watching. Photos of their mayhem will be posted to the library’s social media for families to enjoy.
Stuffed animal pickup will be the following afternoon. If you are interested in participating in this fun event, please register on the library’s website.
