Kim Shafer, a certified Master Gardener, wants her fellow Verona residents to know that the Master Gardeners of Essex County (MGEC) will hold its annual sale of Master Gardener-grown tomatoes, basil and coleus plants beginning on Friday, April 29. The sale, which will be held in Upper Montclair and Roseland, will also feature a curated selection of perennials and shrubs, as well as local honey and honey products.
The sale opens on Friday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens, 474 Upper Mountain Avenue in Upper Montclair.
The following Saturday, the plant sale will be held on May 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Essex County Environmental Center, 621A Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland.
In addition, an online store will be available from Sunday, May 1, to Friday, May 6, on the MGEC website.
The Master Gardeners of Essex County, a a 501(c)(3) organization, is a group of volunteers who provide horticultural education and services to the community. Essex County Master Gardeners will be at the plant sales to help with your plant selections.
