Thursday, March 10, is Family Night in Verona and the Verona Public Library is inviting families to stop in for activities there from 5 to 8 p.m.
Library visitors can participate in an all-ages craft, play a board game, or put together a puzzle. The library now has board game and puzzle collections in addition to its books and DVDs, and families can check out a puzzle or game. Light snacks will be served.
If you do check out a DVD today or tomorrow, the Library will also throw in a free bag of microwave popcorn (while supplies last).
Family Night is an initiative of the Verona Municipal Alliance Committee, started as a way to clear family schedules of homework and after-school activities so that families can spend time with each other. VMAC, which presents free programming on underage use and abuse of alcohol and other substances, believes that family meal-time is an effective tool to help children and adolescents remain substance-free.
If your family wants to eat out on Family Night, VMAC has gotten commitments from many Verona restaurants to offer discounts specials.
