Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ11) announced today that her campaign is accepting applications from high school and college students in the district to be a Democracy Summer 2022 Fellow. All applications must be submitted by March 15 and applicants residing in or from New Jersey’s 11th congressional district will have priority. Verona is part of NJ11 until the next election for Congress.
The Democracy Summer project, which was founded by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD8), seeks train and deploy the next generation of Democratic organizers and leaders to win elections at every level. Participants will learn about voter registration and political organizing, the history of political and social change in the United States, and essential lessons for political leadership.
Fellows must be available from June 20 to July 31. Additional trainings will be held the week of June 13 and followup canvassing will also take place in early August.
