Patricia A. Murphy, 61, died on December 28, 2021 at her home in Verona, surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Sunday, January 2 from 2 to 5 p.m. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Monday at 1 p.m. Face masks and social distancing are encouraged.

Born in New York City and raised in the Bronx, Pat traveled the world and lived in many places, including Chicago, Boston and Verona, but she always thought of herself as a New York City gal.

Pat graduated from City University of New York—Baruch College with a degree in theater arts & business, and went on to serve as a global sales and relationships strategist for International Data Corporation in New York City and Boston.

Active in her community, Pat was a certified yoga instructor at the Integral Yoga Institute in Fairlawn, New Jersey; a volunteer with Gilda’s Club in New York City; a member of the Speakers Bureau for the Susan G. Komen Center, and a supporter and volunteer with the Aldea Infantil San Antonio Orphanage in San Miguel, El Salvador.

Throughout Pat’s life, she had an innate ability to connect with people. Pat was a “rock” to so many family and friends. Whether it was sage advice or a dose of humor, when you were with Pat, she made you feel like you were the center of her universe.

Pat’s positivity, spontaneity and upbeat disposition were infectious to so many family and friends.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, John and Therese Murphy; her brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Linda Murphy; and her birth mother, Therese Ashe-Croft.

Pat is survived by her fiancé, Timothy J. Dillon; her brothers, Denis Murphy (Urszula) and James Murphy; her nieces and nephews, Bryan Murphy, Katelyn Corsitto (Matthew), Thomas Murphy, Taylor Reyes (Dwayne), Michael Murphy, James Murphy, Jr. and Evan Murphy; and extended family, Douglas Croft, Ian Croft, Geoffrey Croft and Matthew Croft.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Susan G. Komen Center for Metastatic Breast Cancer Research, 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380, or to Aldea Infantil San Antonio Orphanage, c/o Christ the King Church, 768 Ocean Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07304, ATTN: Rev. Esterminio Chica, would be appreciated. (Make the check payable to “Christ the King Church” and in the check memo please add “Orphanage – in Memory of Patricia A. Murphy.”)
