Something that might be useful in Verona, given the sharp rise in COVID-19 cases here: The New Jersey Department of Health and Vault Medical Services have partnered to offer a free, at-home COVID-19 saliva test kit. You can order one even if you don’t have symptoms.

The kit is shipped via UPS with next-day delivery. When you get it, you set up a Zoom call with a Vault healthcare representative who will walk you through the test and answer any questions. You send the completed test back in a prepaid UPS package and get your results 24 to 48 hours after your sample arrives at the lab.

In addition, in-person testing is available at locations across the state, including free testing, and you can find a site to suit your needs here. Learn more about COVID-19 testing in New Jersey at covid19.nj.gov/testing.

Verona had 17 new positive cases of COVID-19 today, bringing our total since Thanksgiving to 151 new cases. That’s a 12.4% increase, the highest for any town in Essex County.
