Voices of Verona and West Essex will start rehearsals for an abbreviated fall season on Monday, October 18, and each Monday thereafter until its scheduled concert. Rehearsals are from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The concert will be on Saturday, December 18 at the Verona Community Center.
Anyone wishing to participate is strongly encouraged to get vaccinated. It is critical to attend the first rehearsal due to the uncertainties of this season.
Rehearsals this season will be held at Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, located at 36 Gould Street near the H.B. Whitehorne Middle School complex. Parking is available.
Voices is a group of singers from Verona and surrounding communities. They perform a range of music from seasonal, to show tunes and classical. The December concert is usually holiday themed and features a singalong for the audience. The singers are accompanied by a piano and sometimes guitar, drum, or trumpet. The group traces its roots back to the Verona Choral Society, which was formed in 1949. Voices suspended operations in March 2020 because of the pandemic. New singers are welcome in all ranges and experience is not necessary.
Voices of Verona and West Essex Inc is a 501(c)3 educational organization and donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
