The Celebration of Pets is back: The Celebration will take place on Sunday, October 3, in the Verona Town Square, from 1 to 4 p.m. This year will mark the fifth anniversary of the Celebration and there will be some new attractions and surprises. D.J. Emilio will emcee the event, and the fabulous Pet Parade—with prizes—will take place at 2:30.
The Celebration of Pets is a fun-filled afternoon for anyone who has or wants or loves pets. On hand will be vendors that provide a variety of services such as pet-sitting, dog training, grooming, and vendors and craftspeople who create pet collars, toys, sweaters, ornaments, portraits, and much more. And of course several area rescue groups will be there with dogs and cats, kittens and puppies looking for foster and forever homes. The Grub Spot Food Truck will have snacks and beverages for sale too.
The Celebration of Pets is a day that recognizes the importance of our pets in our lives. On October 3 we also celebrate St. Francis Day and the annual Blessing of the Animals. Fr. Jerry Racioppi, Rector of the Church of the Holy Spirit, will offer blessings to pets of all types.
