Our Lady of the Lake had to cancel its annual Oktoberfest event last year, the fun is back this year in a new form: the OktoberTruck Festival.
“We received so much support through the pandemic that we want to give that support back to the Verona community and beyond,” organizers said in an announcement.
The OktoberTruck Festival will feature food trucks and vendors, a beer garden with Hoboken Brewing (beer made by Verona natives), games, live music, a cornhole tournament, wine tasting, 50/50, and a tricky tray. Food vendors will include local favorites Borino’s, Frank Anthony’s, Blue Hippo, Thai Elephant, Towne Scoop and more.
OktoberTruck Festival is Saturday, October 2, from noon to 5 p.m. It will cost you $5 per person to get in (food and beverage is on your own), but children under 10 are free. The rain date is Sunday, October 3, at the same time and if OktoberTruck needs to be postponed it will be announced on the official OktoberTruck 2021 Facebook page.
For more information, including the sign-up for the cornhole tournament, please visit either the Facebook page or the website ollverona.org/oktoberfest.
The organizers also want you to know that they will be following all guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for small and large gatherings. “As of August 15, 2021, masks are generally not required in an outdoor setting,” they say. “However, it is recommended that those with a weakened immune system wear a mask even in outdoor settings. Sanitizer and sanitized wipes will be available at the festival.”
