Mr. Dante A. Cataldo, 93, died peacefully on August 29, 2021at Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Wednesday, September 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Lakeside Ave., Verona on Thursday, September 2 at 10:30 a.m. Facial masks and social distancing are requested.

Mr. Cataldo was born and raised in Brooklyn and lived in Nutley and Norwich, N.Y. before moving to Verona in 1968. He graduated from Pace University with a bachelor’s degree and served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Mr. Cataldo was an accountant and last worked for SONY Music Corporation for 20 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Parish.

Mr. Cataldo was predeceased by his parents, Bruno and Rosa Cataldo, and sister, Gloria Cataldo.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Beatrice (nee Chaves) Cataldo; loving children, Daniel Cataldo (Rene), Elizabeth Romanazzi, Maria Elena Kistler (Thomas) and Frederick Cataldo (Lynn); and cherished grandchildren, Nikolas and Cristian Cataldo, Mia and John Romanazzi, Calvin, Eva, Evan and Nina Kistler and Caleb, Devon and Chloe Cataldo. He is also survived by his sister, Edna Cataldo.
