John Philip Sousa’s marches are almost synonymous with patriotic holidays in the United States, so it’s entirely fitting that the Monday, July 5 concert on Max Morden’s front lawn will be a “SousaBration.” Morden, a Verona music teacher, says the concert will feature “some of the hits as well as the hidden gems.”
The music will start at 6:30 p.m. and Morden’s house is on Brookside Terrace between Linden and Woodland avenues.
Morden’s concert series started last summer during the pandemic as a way to keep some of his many musician friends engaged with their art. Future concerts will be “Max & Company” on July 12 playing music that Morden and his friends like, and “CubanoBop” with Latin jazz on July 19.
Monday’s concert is free and if you can’t get to in person, it will be live-streamed through Morden’s personal Facebook page.
